New Sonys

Has anyone come across any additional information on Sony's new lineup set to arrive this fall other than the original press release posted back in February? I'm excited to see the new models and was looking to find out exactly when these will hit the shelves. I find it interesting that their new 65' model that is comparable to the current KDP65XBR2 is actually $1300 cheaper ($4700 vs $5999) - could this be a general price drop or a weaker 65' product offering? I mean afterall, the new set has the much bantied-about DVI input...

I have a SONY KD34XBR2 which is a wonderful easy to operate set but there is one big problem. Sony does not market a HD VCR ala JVC's HSDH30000U which is a fabulous set. The Sony firewire connection will accept a digital signal from the JVC VCR but will not accept a HD signal not even a pre-recorded high definition tape. The Mitsubishi HD VCR works only with certain Mitsubishi TV's. I have not been able to find any way to record or play a high definition signal on my JVC HD VCR. You should check the fire wire on any new model Sony's if you want to record high definition. If recording is important to you, get a Mitsubishi.

Angry NEW Sony HDTV

I just checked out the new KP-65WV700 ( Replacement for 65XBR2 ). I was disappointed to find that the new WV series dont come with a HD Decoder. ????? I dont understand why Sony did this??? It does explain the drop in price. Oh well, Im not going to spend 4000 for a HD READY TV...
