It's not that bad.......

Hey guys,

As a fellow Mits RPTV owner, I can say that I am very satisfied with the performance of my 55613.

I've been reading a lot of the posts (performance complaints) on the RPTV's . I think that we've just gotten spoiled. Remember when there was no HD and the RPTV tech was at it's infancy? Now, compare that to now. Aren't you happy with your TV's performance. Are we just plain spoiled? It's been said time and again. If you dig for dirt, you will find dirt.

It seems that quite a few people spend too much time looking for faults that they're missing the whole picture. Other than a major problem like a broken miror (which occured on my original 55613)-(sent back since and replaced with a new one) I am very happy with my TV. VSM on or off, Define edge on or off.

It's just that if someone were shopping for a RPTV Mits, Tosh, Sony, etc... and find this place or any other similar forum. If it were me, It would make me leary of buying a RPTV.

Sorry guys, just had to vent.

I guess it is a good thing you bought before coming here.
Of course many others will disagree that if for not visiting here first they would know what or how to buy.
I do not feel we are negative towards RPT. Actually most of us own RTV's and recomend ways to make them even perform better.
I am always trying to get my grayscale just right while other think an overly bright with faded colors looks great. To each his own but I want mine as close to perfect as I can make it.

Tweaking.....

I suppose that periodic tweaking is inherent to this hardware. The old 4:3 Tubes are basically just plug and play.

I have a scheduled ISP tech visit for a full calibration this weekend. Maybe this will show me what I've been missing.

How was the calibration? Was it everything it is said to be?
