Satellite requirements

I'm a little (maybe a lot?) confused. I right now have Comcast HDTV. I have a JVC HD-ready TV and a Motorola 5100 STB, which also functions as an HD receiver.

If I were to switch to satellite, I would need a dish (obviously), and satellite receivers for each television, as well as an antenna to get OTA channels.

Would I also need a separate HD receiver, or is the 921 (and I guess similar product that will be available through DirectTV) a satellite receiver/hd receiver/dvr?

The 921 is a dual tuner- hd recorder with OTA capability.

921

Thanks, but is it also an HD decoder, or do I need a separate HD decoder (which is built into the Moto 5100) (my TV is HD-ready, it doesn't have a built-in HD decoder)

I recently toured Dishes HD promo truck that is making the rounds. I have been particularly interested in the 1500.00 package that includes a 931 and direct view Thomson HDTV. They had a Thomson projection on display. The picture was very fuzzy - nothing compared to my Mitsubishi.

As I was leaving one of the sales reps stated that production of the 921 has ceased due to technical problems.

Don't shoot me, but I have a Dish 921 PVR with very little technical problems. The aspect ratio is a little messed up for a SDTV, but I can use my 721 for that. The 921 with the Mits big screen is awsome. As far as Comcast High Definition, I tried it out and it is ugly compared to Dish Network or OTA. And no, you do not need a separate HDTV decoder.
