What is the source of the input? Sounds like a computer?

What are our input choices on the projector? Brand/Model?

If we are talking computer to projector, I have not tried this yet with my PJ, but my manual says to use the M1 (DVI) or Vesa (VGA). Most common connection shows VGA > VGA.

There is something like this: http://www.ramelectronics.net/html/PC-TV_GHV-1000.html

Only 1 input

The only input is for VGA(monitor in) on the projector. The output device is a Samsung Directv HDTV receiver. I can send the signal to the projector using VGA or component video(red blue green). I take it I should use the VGA as the output over the component video.

Samsung SIR-TS160 : http://www.americansatellite.com/pr...E6VU5A&ITEM=795

Not trying to be difficult but I don't see VGA out on the STB??? Just DVI, component, s-video and composite unless you are going to use an adapter or converter.

The cable in the link in my previous post is not correct, it is VGA to component. The component to VGA converter is ok. I'll remove the bad link.

Sorry I should of said RGB out. I thought they were the same. So to recap, What should I use my component out(samsung) to monitor in on the projector(dell 2200mp) or the rgb out(samsung) to monitor in (dell). And one more can you use regular RCA cables to extend component video cables?

Thx

If they are video cables (yellow ends, 75ohm), don't use the audio ones (red/white 50ohms).

As to the video out questions, I'll bow out at this point, I'm not knowledgeable enough on the two pieces of equipment you are asking about.

Someone else please jump in if you have knowledge in this area.

Thanks,
Lee
