Electronicsnation.com Buyer Beware
Hi, this is just a warning to watch out when purchasing anything from this company. I purchased a refurbished Philips 30" HDTV on 2/9 they took the money out of my acct faster then I could blink an eye. Well here we are 3 weeks later and still no TV. They gave me a tracking number last Wed on 2/18 and when I go to the carriers website to track the shipment it comes up "no match" I have talked to the carrier and they aren't too happy with this company either because it's making them (pilotair) look bad. I spoke to a CS rep at electronicsnation and he keeps giving me the run around telling me the shipment was "on-hold" of course he didn't tell me why. Also for the life of me I can't find a telephone number for this establishment. This site is an authorized Philips reseller. I already sent a complaint to Philips consumer products. That didn't do sqaut as they didn't even reply. My next recourse may have to be with the Ohio District Attorney's office. This really stinks because I did a fair amount of due dilligence with this company and they looked legit.

Man I feel your pain I tried emailing them acting like I want to buy product from them, but needing a phone # before I would buy anything. Hey it's worth a try.
This was their only response hey I tried: Unfortunately we do not offer phone support in order to keep our prices low. We do offer email support for any problems though. Please let us know if you need anything else, we would be happy to help you. ElectronicsNation.com Sales Support Last edited by Scott5626 : 02-27-2004 at 02:23 PM. |

Bank acc't
Quote:
Call (and write) your bank ASAP and tell them you are disputing the debit, and write the seller and tell them you are cancelling the order.

That's correct. You normally have at least 60 days to dispute a debit. It will probably be a matter of signing a statement swearing you didn't get the merchandise. Your bank/card issuer will almost always side with the consumer. |

This company is something else. So im going back and forth with the CS rep all day. He sends me this email
From: ElectronicsNation.com Sales Support [mailto:Info@ElectronicsNation.com] Sent: Friday, February 27, 2004 2:02 PM To: Subject: Re: Customer Contact Service Your TV will be shipping soon. We are not in Pilot's database because we are not a customer, but Philips is and we are an authorized dealer for Philips. If you want to cancel the order let me know and I will do so immediately, otherwise it will take some time to ship this out. Please let us know if you need anything else, we would be happy to help you. ElectronicsNation.com Sales Support ============================================== So I email him telling him to cancel the order and he has the sack to send me this reply. ============================================== This TV has shipped, there is just a delay in tracking. If you wish to cancel, you must refuse the shipment after which you will be refunded. Please let us know if you need anything else, we would be happy to help you. ElectronicsNation.com Sales Support ============================================== It's been 10 days since I had the tracking number. total BS if you ask me. Time to go to the IFFC to file a complaint Philips may be involved to as the TV set ship directly frtom Philips. |

Here's an update and at least there's something positive about it. As of yesterday 16 days since TV set supposedly had shipped to my house I still hadn't received it. So I sent yet another email to electronicsnation.com stating that I was going to contest the debit withdrawal with my bank and that I had 60 days to do so. Signing an affidavit stating that I didn't receive the merchandise. He responded to me rather quickly saying that I could be banned from his site and all affiliated sites for doing that without giving him a warning first because MasterCard charges him a fee (LOL at banning me). Then he states that if I wanted a refund all I have to is request it. I then replied to him telling him I wanted to request a refund immediateley in which he replied saying Your refund will be back in your acct in 3-5 business days but if by any chance the delivery company contacts you to set up a delivery date just deny the shipment.
I think it's safe to say that after 16days in shipping that i'm not going to be receiving my TV at all. At least i'll be getting my money back so I can go buy an HDTV from a store instead of online. Man what a fiasco that was. Thanks to all who replied to my thread with some useful info. |

Well I got my money refunded from electronicsnation and get this I get a phone call 4 days after I get my money back from a Worcester Freight company they tell me they have a package from Philips for me I wanted to say deliver the TV but seeing how I had already got my money back I had to deny the shipment so they could send it back. IMO waiting 4 weeks and 4 days for delivery is unacceptable for an online purchase so be wary of Electronicsnation.com

Heads UP
Thanks for letting us know how you handled it. I think you're better off with the money in hand and buying your tv (even if you have to spend a couple of bucks more) from another source. Good luck and enjoy it (when you get it).

Has anyone had any sucess with this company as far as the merchandise being in good condition upon arrival?, because i was thinking about ordering from them recently and I don't want to get screwed. I'm sorta willing to take a chance this one time. Because i requested info on a tv ,they have none avaliable at the moment but i'm being put on the notify list.

I am planning on ordering from them today. The risk is worth the price difference to me, also they have a great overall rating. (Especially when compared to the Major electronic's retailers) |

Just in case anyone is like me and came across this thread recently, (8/2005)you need to look a little more deeply than allymo did, if you look at the ratings history you'll find that the only reason they have such a high rating is that there is only ONE review in each of the last two months, both positive.
I am really pissed, I was all excited to get my new TV and was so happy with the price. I just hope I don't have as much trouble as subdude. Wish me luck. |
