Hi I have a doubt
If I have a HDTV ready TV that supports 1080i and 480p but still needs a decoder (set top box) Do I need this set top box in order to enjoy HDTV in my xobx or DVD? Is it (the set top box) just for cable/satellite tv?---> to convert tehir signals Or do I need the box for everything? Thanks guys! |

The set top box (STB) is a tuner for picking up over the air (OTA) signals, or converting cable or satellite signals. You don't need it for X-Box or DVD. They can be input directly to the HDTV or to a receiver, then to the HDTV.
The cable connections (S-Video, Component Video, composite video, etc) will be dependent on the type of signal transmitted and the various inputs and outputs available on your equipment.
