I think that the enhancements that we hear about being "under development" are no different that adding steam condensors that helped "improve" time between water, or quick firing boilers that helped the "start" time of the vehicle. Reading the following article was like reading todays modern story of sticking with the 'good 'ol American ATSC VSB'. Stanley > Robert Edwards > > "DTV for ALL" Robert, thanks for the link to railroadextra.com. I enjoyed reading the article. 15 miles to the gallon of kerosene at 40 miles per hour, top speed of 80 mph, with no noise from the motor...not bad. And a start time approaching 1 1/2 minutes, compared to the previous start time of 6 to 15 minutes. (Credit to Abner Doble report on using the improved experimental Stanley Steamer, circa 1916.) Our ATSC "stanley steamer" improvements are being designed as we speak. :-) Best regards, Ked Fitzpatrick From Bob Miller ![]() Last edited by robmx : 08-26-2002 at 09:23 PM. |
