Whew!

What to say after all that?

If it is true, then they will just make something to replace HDCP that is more(?) secure. Who knows. Will this slow down the production of HDTV's? I would think that would depend on the response of the industry to this.

Then again - Is there a system that will secure the copyrights of all interested parties? In this day and age, is anything secure?

Of course one should ask... Was this a real story?

This will bare some watching!

I don't think it will slow down production but it may mean that they have to develop a new security protocol. Or keep sending you software downloads like Microsoft does.

This is precisely what makes the whole subject so inane and ridiculous. There is no way on this earth to make anything really "secure"!

If someone wants to breach ANY security system, it can and will be done! Furthermore, while I respect IP rights, I cannot drum up any sympathy for the poor suffering movie and music industries who make more money from these new technologies than they ever did before such technologies appeared on the planet!

Does anyone know just who introdused the DMCA legislation in the first place - and who voted FOR it in the Congress? Inquiring minds would sure like to know that.
